WAITING FOR BIOGRAFILM FESTIVAL 2020

We stay in sync waiting for Biografilm Festival 2020. In collaboration with I Wonder Pictures / Unipol Biografilm Collection, Beltrade cinemas in Milan, Nuovo Eden of Brescia and Odeon of Vicenza bring to the public of their virtual cinemas a selection of the best films presented in the latest editions of the international cinema festival dedicated to life stories.

It starts with the Oscar-winning documentary® SUGAR MAN in Malik Bendjelloul,

which will follow from 22 May STOP THE POUNDING HEART - STOP YOUR HEART AT BREATH by Roberto Minervini, the docu-film winner of the David di Donatello.

Bologna, Milano, Brescia, Vicenza, 15 May 2020 – This year Biografilm Festival | International Celebration of Lives (5 – 15 June 2020) will move to the network by opening up to virtual participation from the whole national territory.

Waiting for Biografilm Festival 2020, in collaboration with I Wonder Pictures / Unipol Biografilm Collection, along with three cinemas that following the forced closure first resumed their online streaming programming for a fee, presents a weekly appointment with some films acclaimed in previous editions of the festival and awarded all over the world.

The films will enrich the online programming of the three independent cinemas. The offer has the double value of keeping the room at the center of the film proposal and of guaranteeing a minimum livelihood for the entire supply chain, from production, to distribution, exercise.

The proposed films, starting with SUGAR MAN by Malik Bendjelloul online from Friday 15 May, will be available, until the departure of Biografilm Festival in June, on the Video On Demand channels of the rooms, each according to their own offer methods:

BIOGRAPHICAL FESTIVAL 5 – 15 JUNE 2020

from 5 al 15 June, great biographies and the best cinematic life stories arrive online. The mechanisms of power, the creative power of the body, China seen through the singular realities of those who live there are some of the thematic strands proposed by the sixteenth edition of the Festival.

Due to the ongoing health crisis that causes cinemas to close, Biografilm festival moves online keeping its original dates, to offer quality content to the public, possibility of deepening and "meeting" with life stories that can be a source of inspiration, confrontation and individual growth, even in current circumstances.

The films will be available in the original language with Italian subtitles, for free, from Italian territory.

In addition to the projections, video interviews with the authors of the films will be proposed to explore their cinematographic path and the topics covered.

Biografilm Festival takes place with the contribution of the Department of Culture of the Emilia-Romagna Region, of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism, of the Municipality of Bologna, of the Monte del Bologna and Ravenna Foundation, of the Cassa di Risparmio Foundation in Bologna and with the main partnership of Unipol Gruppo Finanziario.
