The movie theaters turn the lights back on
The flash mob #riaccendilcinema will take place simultaneously with the 65a edition of the David di Donatello Awards
Simultaneously with the 65a edition of the David di Donatello Awards, live on Friday 8 May on Rai 1 from 21.25, Italian cinemas will rekindle, for one evening, signs and screens, pending the reopening and a return to normal.
It flash mob, organized by ANEC with hashtag #riaccendilcinema, intends to send a symbolic message to the spectators, operators and institutions with which the important social function that the rooms perform daily on the territory as meeting places is underlined, participation and cultural exchange, and the need for a strategic project to relaunch the sector is highlighted. Following the lockdown, indeed, 1.600 movie theaters have suspended their business, for a total of 4.200 screens throughout the national territory.
"Italian cinemas rekindle their lights with the hope of a return to full normalcy on behalf of the entire film industry - said Mario Lorini, ANEC President - We want to send an important signal to remind all the public that cinemas are there and await the right moment to reopen. In that moment, we will need all the warmth and passion of our spectators ".
