If you have Malta, from 2 al 4 December 2016 Multiplex at the Embassy Cinemas Valletta, Italy today on Screen - MALTA film festival which is articulated in various moments, each of which has a specific purpose to be highlighted. Among the guests of the festival, the actor Marco Giallini and the director Paolo Genovese who will present the film Perfect strangers and the British actor Toby Jones that will present Tale of Tales – The Tale of Tales.
Italy on Screen today – MALTA, fresh from the success of NEW YORK which was held since 26 al 30 October 2016 and who has seen, among others, the presence of Paola Cortellesi, is conceived and directed by Loredana Commonara and coordinated by Stella Scarafoni, intends to combine the art and culture of cinema, object of study and criticism, and promote Italian cinema in Malta. The review consists of a showcase on contemporary Italian cinema; a selection of the best and most recent productions in Italy; Q&A with directors and leading actors and a series of short films. Following, the projection of Perfect strangers, Paolo Genovese, This will be followed by a meeting with the public in the presence of the director himself and the leading actor, Marco Giallini, moderated by Prof. Gloria Lauri-Lucente, Head of the Department of Italian and Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Arts.

Following, the delivery to Giallini and Genovese of the Vento d’Europa Award - Wind of Europe International Award.
 The Award was born from the experience of Loredana Commonara as artistic director of the Ventotene Film Festival, with the aim of offering international recognition from time to time to an artist who is a symbol of all continental culture and was established in 2013 on the occasion of the seventy years since the birth of the European Federalist Movement, created during his forced stay on the island of Ventotene by Altiero Spinelli, one of the founding fathers of a united Europe.
Saturday 3 December the projection of Assault on the sky, by Francesco Munzi, documentary that tells the youth protests in Italy between the 1967 and the 1977, retraced solely through the editing of archival footage. The screening of Tale of Tales, by Matteo Garrone, and a meeting with the audience with the leading actor, Englishman Toby Jones, moderated by Prof. Gloria Lauri-Lucente. Following, the delivery to Jones of the Vento d’Europa Award - Wind of Europe International Award.
Sunday 4 December, the projection of 9X10 Ninety,episodic collective film signed by nine directors chosen from the new Italian cinema scene. Then, introduced by Regina and Christopher Catrambone, founders of the Maos association (first privately funded rescue mission) the screening of the docu-film by Gianfranco Rosi, Fuocoammare.
The festival - underlines the artistic direction – wants to investigate beyond the obvious logistical and production scenario that unites Malta with the world of cinema, deepening some historical and cultural reasons that justify the presence and passion for Italian cinema in the heart of the Mediterranean that Malta represents.
