More women protagonists in the Foyer of the #TeatroMassimo with #Portraits, the concert of the #LaCantoria del Teatro directed by #GiuseppeRicotta

The concert features the solo voices of Gabriele Majorana, Fabiola Galati, Alessandra Urrata, Arianna France, Sara Barraco, Giorgia Marramaldo, Alessia Zizzo, Helen Corallo and Chiara Perez. Sergio Calì on drums, Dario Ammirata on bass.

The songs performed range from Bring me little water Silvy, work song written by Lead Belly (one of the most important exponents of blues music), to the famous Aria on the fourth string by Johann Sebastian Bach; and Hallelujah, on Leonard Cohen (with the arrangement by Alberto Maniaci) a Contemporary Mass n. 1 Anima Mundi by Giuseppe Ricotta, which engages the young performers of the Cantoria by bringing together styles and traditions of varied origins in its language. We continue with Love fail, the performance for voices by the American composer David Lang and with a medley taken from the film Sister Act.

Pianist, saxophonist and composer, Giuseppe Ricotta graduated in Composition under the guidance of Marco Betta and specialized in film music at the Accademia Chigiana with Luis Bacalov.

The Cantoria is the latest addition to the youth ensembles of the Teatro Massimo and is made up of singers aged between 15 e i 26 years that, at the end of the journey with the children's choir of the Theatre, they continue their musical training path. He has already performed numerous concerts for the Teatro Massimo seasons, also in the summer venue of the Teatro di Verdura, and for city associations and institutions, also on the occasion of important institutional events.
