The Carthage Film Festival and its director Ibrahim Letaief on the occasion of the 26th edition present the ITALIAN CINEMA DAYS IN TUNIS – TRIBUTE TO ITALY.
The Italian Cultural Institute of Tunis will participate in the Carthage Film Festival (21-28 November 2015), presenting to the Tunisian public, once again in collaboration with Medfilm Festival and its director Ginella Vocca, a wide selection of very recent award-winning and unreleased films in Tunisia from various international festivals, in the presence of important personalities from the world of cinema and culture. The selection (overall 15 works) of feature films, short films and documentaries illustrates, in an exemplary way, the different facets of Italy through a profound exploration of its current reality. These are important and innovative works by courageous directors, both with a consolidated career and of the new generation, who are able to narrate our present through stylistic exploration and the desire for experimentation.
It is essential in this moment of great socio-cultural tension that bridges are built between the Western world and the Islamic world. Therefore, events like this which help Made in Italy are to be applauded, but also and above all they help understanding between peoples. The Berlinale Spotlight in Tunis has been added to the Italian showcase in Tunis for the first year, selection between titles passed to the most recent editions of the Berlinale which is a sort of "Tour of the World" with its 400 films from the latest edition.
