APPOINTMENT DEDICATED TO DONATELLA COLASANTI AND ROSARIA LOPEZ

Third appointment of “I don't hate”, the special project aimed at high school girls and boys in Lazio for the prevention of gender-based violence and for the contrast of stereotypes promoted by’ Department of Tourism and Equal Opportunities together with the Department of Labor and New Rights, Training, School and University Right to Study.
After the success of the two end appointments 2020, which saw the remote participation of hundreds of girls and boys and numerous artists and personalities from the world of culture and entertainment, will take place on Monday 8 February the third meeting of “I don't hate” with the extraordinary testimonies of Roberto Colasanti and Letizia Lopez, brother and sister of the two girls who were victims of the brutal episode of violence which took place in San Felice Circeo on 1 October 1975.
In memory of them, the Lazio Region has dedicated a prize expiring next 16 April.
“Sam very happy with this second edition of the special project “I don't hate”, a project strongly desired by President Zingaretti, – declares the Councilor for Equal Opportunities and Tourism, Giovanna Pugliese – and despite the fact that at first I thought that the compulsory way to carry out our appointments in streaming was a limit, today I believe it has proved to be a great opportunity to reach an even greater number of young people and to leave an indelible trace of our work against hatred. To Donatella Colasanti and Rosaria Lopez we dedicate our third meeting so that, also through their dramatic history, our message against violence can be made clear“.
The choice to propose the refinancing of the Colasanti-Lopez Prize – declares the Councilor Eleonora Mattia, President of the equal opportunities commission, school and youth policies – it was guided by the deep conviction that we should start from schools, by boys and girls, to spread the culture of respect and gender equality. The brutality of the violence of the circeo is indelible in our memories and I felt the duty to remember the lives and the broken dreams of two girls who made history with. Donatella Colasanti proudly showed how we can survive and we owe her courage and resilience, for example, the social change that made possible the law that defines rape as a crime against the person and not against morality. There is a common thread that links the Circeo massacre to today's news and it is the constant accusation of women: doubly victims and always guilty. With this Award, the Lazio Region reaffirms the role of the school in the challenge, which is above all cultural, against those prejudices and that pattern of thinking and remember instead that violence has only one culprit: who does it.”
In addition to Roberto Colasanti and Letizia Lopez, the writer Edoardo Albinati will speak, the actress Anna Ferzetti and Deputy Prosecutor of Rome and Coordinator of the pool for children's rights Maria Monteleone. The event will be presented by Veronica Pivetti live from Spazio Rossellini in Rome.
The project “I don't hate "received the support of the Italian National Press Federation and of Article 21.
