MY NAME THOMAS Amedeo Fago, Italy 2017, 80’

north Rome. of cultured and enlightened bourgeoisie Parents. A son who knew the heroin slavery and imprisonment. In the most rough form, the movie's Home, Amedeo Fago, scenographer, cinematographic director, playwright, records the innocuous appearance of the dysfunction of a family group in an internal, indissolubility of affection and incomprehension, invisible lump of regrets and disappointments, without drama and without hope.

With the following Motivation: My name is Thomas a portrait at once icy and hopelessly empathetic of a bourgeois interior: a mother and a father have to do with the story of painful and comic addiction, conscious and surprising their son Thomas. The bright ability to Fago is to let this story tell itself, through the direct words of the three and a use of the room almost homevideo, and that the viewer arrives with the power of a confession made in public, revealing the dull light of a Roman apartment asphyxiated by family conflicts the universality of all our suffering failures.

DIORAMA Demetrius Giacomelli, Italy 2017, 80’

The toad, the stork and the swallow: protagonists of a film that explores the presence of wild animals in the city, capable of awakening a need for intimacy and knowledge of a totally different world, mostly removed. Filmed in Milan, Pavia and Lake Como, awarded at the Turin Film Festival, provided with images and sounds unknown, He has the look of those who wonder why animals persist "not to answer our questions".

With the following Motivation: Diorama is a film for fragments that can envelop the viewer like a whirlwind, To the question, calling the dizzying: what is the relationship between our human condition and our membership in the animal world. Demetrio Giacomelli makes a series of small urban wanderings in the wake of toads, birds, dogs, showing the ambivalence of created dimension, through a style at the same time rigorous and lysergic.

SPECIAL MENTION

The jury decided to award, originality and courage, a special mention to TWO DOGS Andrea Vallero, Italy 2018, 48’

Two stray dogs, in Palermo - and a look that follows them for three months, "taking the goal at their height". Powered by a student of the Experimental Center of Sicily, It is an exercise of unprecedented athleticism film and the look rebirth. Stripped of their cultural and biological monopoly, overthrown in a space, human voices are indistinguishable from sounds and noises of a world full of wanderings, threats and adventures.

With the following Motivation: A bold experiment that will fit with the peripheral and marginal eyes of two stray dogs: the original idea of telling a mute testimony to waive any easier humanization and indeed closes with a clear admission of the absence of hope for a destiny already sealed.
