Judaism and Israel in Cinema 12th edition c / o House of Cinema, The Italian Jewish Center Pitigliani

Comedies, dramas, documentaries, panel with animation professionals, documentary and television series journalism, guests and Italian previews. These are some of the various souls of Pitigliani Kolno'a Festival – Judaism and Israel in film, that, now in its twelfth edition, returns to Rome from 18 al 23 November 2017. Usual the location – Casa del Cinema and the Italian Jewish Center Pitigliani – free admission to the festival to availability and dedicated to Israeli film and Hebrew topic. Among the guests of the festival, Peres will attend Yonatan son of the Nobel Peace Prize winner Shimon Peres, representing the Peres Center for Peace and innovation.

With 20 Italian previews, produced by the Italian Jewish Center The Pitigliani and directed by Ariela Piattelli and Lirit Mash, the PKF2017 It proposes for the usual section “Panorama on the new Israeli cinema "works that have been successful both in Israel and abroad, and representing the diversity and multiculturalism that make up Israeli society today. Opening Film, Holy Air Shadi Srour - guest at the festival with producer Ilan Moskovitch – premiered Italian, a comedy that shows an unprecedented insight into the different cultures that live together in Israel. Among those attending the opening night – Bruno Sed President of The Pitigliani, Yonatan Peres Peres Foundation representative and son Nobel laureate Shimon Peres, Ofer Sachs Ambassador of Israel in Rome Nicola Zingaretti President of the Lazio Region, Noemi Di Segni, President of the Union of Italian Jewish Communities, Rabbi Riccardo Di Segni Chief Rabbi Communities Jewish Roma, Mons. Dario Edoardo Viganò Prefect Secretary for Communications of the Holy See, Ariela Piattelli and Lirit Mash Leaders of PKF. Among the many titles in the program, for the first time it will be presented to the Italian public the Legend of King Solomon, the last work of the Israeli animation Master Hanan Kaminski - who was also among the guests of the festival – original version of the story of King Solomon, which addresses the issues of coexistence between different cultures and the transition from youth to adulthood. A film that has engaged 12 years the Israeli director who will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award, for the first time awarded by the festival. Following, at 19:00, the secondopanel,entitled "Telling the Middle East through the documentary", meeting in two voices between Itai Anghel - the largest Israeli war -and reporters the director of La Stampa,Maurizio Molinari. The panel will be followed by a screening of docInvisible in Mosul, recently won the Award for Best Documentary in which the same Anghel joins with courage to the special Iraqi army bodies moving towards Mosul under fire ISIS and its suicide bombers. Anghel, indeed, It is the only Israeli journalist to have documented the war in Iraq up to go to the front lines of fighting against ISIS in Mosul. During the festival there will also be the first edition of the Premio Emanuele (Lele) Luzzati,that the 22 November present in a 'non-stop’ the finalists and 23 November will reward the work deemed worthy by a jury made up of intellectuals and prominent artists.

To remember 50 years after the arrival of Libyan Jews in Italy, the festival closes at the Jewish Center The Italian Pitigliani with Libya, the last exodus of Ruggero Gabbai.
