The AWARDS CEREMONY followed by the film recently took place CLOSING OUT OF COMPETITION by the American Antoine Fuqua The Magnificent Seven is the remake of the famous film The Magnificent Seven, the western par excellence of 1960, directed by John Sturges and starred, among others, when Yul Brynner, Eli Wallach, Steve

McQueen, Charles Bronson e James Coburn. With these premises it is really difficult to make a comparison with what the Studios offer us today. But it will be a good omen to at least encourage the younger generations to discover the film 50 years ago. The story is known, when the sleepy town of Rose Creek finds itself under the iron heel of tycoon Bartholomew Bogue, to find protection for desperate citizens, led by Emma Cullen, they hire seven outlaws, bounty hunters, gamblers and hitmen. From here a story unfolds that has its own moral in the Wild West. As our heroes prepare the city for the violent showdown they know is imminent, they find themselves fighting for something that goes beyond money.
But let's now move on to the award-winning films with the exception of Amat Escalante who was awarded ex aequo for the film LA REGIÓN SALVAJE (THE UNTAMED)  e BIG WORLD (BIG BIG WORLD) We had anticipated a possible victory for the Turkish Reha Erdem. In particular:

We also want to mention the film OUT OF COMPETITION Rem by Tomas Koolhaas which concerns the famous architect Rem Koolhaas who was responsible for bringing the Architecture Exhibition of the Biennale to life. The life of Rem Koolhaas is explored, his working method, his philosophy and his

interior landscape, from a new perspective, intimate and immediate. There is no external narrator to mediate for the viewer. The result is the sensation of being “inside” Rem's head. This perspective allows the viewer to understand Rem's ideas in a way that would otherwise be impossible. But also an extra incentive for cinephiles to go to the Giardini and the Arsenale before leaving Venice.
For the WEEK OF CRITICISM we attended the screening of the Colombian film that won the 31st edition Los Nadie di di Juan Sebastián Mesa sul quale

we have some reservations. We liked AKHER WAHED FINA instead (THE LAST OF US) by the Tunisian Ala Eddine Slim awarded by the jury of the Venice First Opera Prize “Luigi De Laurentiis”.

Lastly, the confirmation that the 74th edition will be held from 30 August 2017.
