It opens the third edition of CiakPolska Film Festival, which this year also has its logo and its official name, confirming not only the vitality of Polish cinema, but also the success of the event at the Roman public. The event is supported by Polish Film Institute, by the Cultural CortoItaliaCinema, dal Rome Independent Film Festival, the National Film Archive - Cinema Trevi, the House of Cinema and Studio TOR Filmowe.
This year's program is enriched with new perspectives with the Cineteca section Classic Cinema Trevi. Since the first edition of CiakPolska 2013 It born from the idea of grouping the various festivals in Italy on the Polish cinema and spread in several directions, also offering many previews. I'm thirty works including feature films in competition, documentaries and animated films, short films at the prestigious School of Andrzej Wajda and great classics of Polish film masters.
Guest of honor of the festival will be Krzysztof Zanussi, CiakPolska who devotes a brief review: "Krzysztof Zanussi. I travel to italy", by Emma Blacks, presenting six titles, in the wake of a long European tradition, witness the many links the master with Italy.
Another exhibition is dedicated to the director Michał Waszyński, referred to for the first time will present its three productions made in Italy in collaboration with Vittorio Cottafavi. A premiere, as the films of the Italian version of the film "The Great Road" and "Flames of the sea" we have been discovered only recently, thanks to the extraordinary work and dedication of the National Museum of Science and Technology "Leonardo da Vinci" in Milan, National Archives of Industrial Cinema in Ivrea and the young scholar Simone Starace. All’evento parteciperanno Piotr Rosołowski, famous Polish director who is working with Elwiera Niewiera to Waszyński documentary on "The Prince and the Dybuk", Francesco Cottafavi, Emiliano Morreale and Simone Starace.
For the competition of the Public CiakPolska Film Festival prize have been selected for the first or second films by young directors. The festival will be inaugurated by the "Gods" movie by Łukasz Palkowski, winner of the national Gdynia Film Festival and the box office hit in Poland in 2014, that has combined with skill auteur cinema with a large popular cinema.
Among the guests of the festival also Grzegorz Jaroszuk, director of "Kebab & Horoscope”, a comedy of the absurd, winning the last edition of the Rome Independent Film Festival Best Foreign Film. Katarzyna Klimkiewicz present his debut "Blindly | Flying Blind" made entirely in England. The year 2015 also marks the return of Borys Lakosz with "The grain of truth", a thriller which compares with the recent history of Poland. There will be also established authors, including the previously mentioned Krzysztof Zanussi with his new film "foreign body", Wojciech Smarzowski with "Under the strong angel's wing" and, from 5 November at the cinema, the new film Małgorzata Szumowska, winner of the Gdynia Film Festival this year - "Bodies. Anyone who loves is never sick ", with a subtitle that would take us to another program in the movie "I am Mateusz" Maciej Pieprzyca, a true hymn to life. To note the Tea time with the Polish Film, Sunday 15 November alle pm. 16.00, the Casa del Cinema during which there will be a tribute to Krzystof Krauze held by critic Lukasz Maciejewski.
