#MUSA Award 2023 of Film Criticism

The #MUSA Award 2023 of Film Critics awarded to Santi Pulvirenti and Calibro 35 for the soundtracks of L'ultima notte di Amore e Blanca

Santi Pulvirenti and the Calibro 35 they won the #MUSA Critics' Award Cinemusicale 2023 for the best original music respectively for the film L'ultima notte di Amore and the TV series Blanca. Two soundtracks that best represent the artistic value of the Italian composition scene through the perfect combination, aesthetic and narrative, of music and images.

Directed and created by Marco Testoni (Soundtrack City) and by Massimo Privitera (Soundtracks), the #Musa Award is an award that the Italian press and specialized critics want to award annually to the best musical scores of the season; an award created to respond to the need to give the right cultural dimension to the quality of music for images and the peculiarity of its language.

The jury of the first edition was made up entirely of critics, journalists, directors of film and music publications and writer-musicians: with Renato Marengo (Cinecorriere), Andrea Natale (writer, critic), Marco Ferretti (writer, Journalist), Alessandro De Rosa (writer, musician), Pierluigi Pietroniro (writer, musician), Anna Rollando (Writer, musician), Luca Perrone (writer, musician), Eugenio Tassitano (writer, musician), Alessandra Mazza (criticism) and by the two jury presidents Marco Testoni and Massimo Privitera

Music for cinema and TV series is an artistic and professional field that involves an increasingly growing number of artists at a national level, instrumentalists, technicians, publishers, producers and operators. For the season 2023 the jurors evaluated the original music in two specific categories: Films and TV Series.

For the film section there were six nominations: The sun of the future by Franco Piersanti, The last night of Love by Santi Pulvirenti, Lubo by Marco Biscarini, Kidnapped by Fabio Massimo Capogrosso, Work by Nicola Piovani, Borromini and Bernini. Challenge to perfection by Remo Anzovino.

While for the TV series section the sestina included: Blanca – Season 2 of Caliber 35, The investigations of Lolita Lobosco by Tommy Caputo and Santi Pulvirenti, Django by Mokadelic, Soulmate of Francesco Cerasi, The law of Lidia Poët by Massimiliano Mechelli, Light of your eyes – Season 2 by Savio Riccardi.
