#FinestreResistenti 24 e 25 April in Rome and Bologna

The projections of the Resistance from the windows of Rome and Bologna to narrate the Liberation through the images and textures of the films

A special event promoted by 6000 Sardine and Alice in the city to raise the volume pending the 25 April

Two cities, circa 60 windows, a spontaneous and widespread festival that the 24 April at 21.30 will talk about the Liberation of Italy from Nazifascism through the walls and monuments wrapped in the silence of the quarantine. Two lives that meet: that of those who project and decide to leave themselves and passive acceptance of the quarantine and that of those who become screens and therefore an integral part of a story that combines past and present.
The Resistant Windows initiative is part of the event #CinemaDaCasa launched by Alice in the Cities that, starting from Italy, has already involved dozens of cities around the world. Through a dedicated Facebook event it will be possible to follow the preparations, inquire to participate, discover the selection of films and documentaries and the map of the projections that will be updated day by day. In Bologna the main screen will be managed by Cineteca di Bologna e City Theater, who for the occasion will screen the documentary by Paolo Soglia and Lorenzo K on Piazza Verdi. Stanzani, The Forgotten Front, a research work of over a year that has managed to put together the images and stories of the Felsinea Resistance.

A film festival without spectators, which fits well into the anomaly of this period, in two cities where "cinema" and "resistance" are not just any words. Spontaneity and self-management are the keywords of the organizers who want to emphasize the freedom and ease of joining: “just a projector, a relatively close building in front of the home window and that desire to participate which is now the hallmark of both #cinemadacasa and sardines”.

On the "Resistant Windows" Facebook Event and on the "Home Cinema" Facebook Page, a list containing suggested themed clip proposals from which to draw to take part in the festival. In line with SIAE legislation which allows free publication through the internet, free of charge, pieces of low resolution images and music for educational or scientific use and only in the event that such use is not for profit.

The initiative launched by Alice in the City e 6000 Sardine has already collected the adhesions of Cineteca di Bologna, Municipal Theater of Bologna, About Bologna Magazine, Dynamo Velostation, NarrandoBo, Unstable Portazza, Elenfant, ANPI, Italian Film Academy David di Donatello Award, Casa del Cinema in Rome, Fondazione Cinema per Roma, AAMOD Audiovisual archive of the workers' movement, CSC National Film Library, IED European Institute of Design in Rome and many others that are being added in these hours.

The invitation is obviously open to all cities that want to participate. “The meeting between Alice in the City and 6000 Sardine allowed Rome and Bologna to be the two forerunners. However, the intention is to extend the festival to all the cities of Italy. We already have feedback from Ferrara and Modena, Torino ; Catania ; Pisa; Cagliari but we are sure that the list will grow, also abroad."Thanks to the hashtag #finestreresistenti it will be possible to make a collection of the projections and mount them in a single video reminder of what promises to be a single Liberation Anniversary eve.
