Fabrizio Bosso & Julian Oliver Mazzariello in concert show "Tandem"

 

Tuesday 7 August, all 21.30, in Janiculum Terrace for the event "Janiculum in jazz", Fabrizio Bosso e Julian Oliver Mazzariellopresent “Tandem”, a project that traces and reinterprets great songs and themes of international music, regardless of gender.

Gives Oh Lady Be Good di George Gershwin a Luiza di Antonio Carlos Jobim, dall'omaggio the great Michel Legrand in a version of Windmills of your Mind, the theme of Bernard Herrmann Taxi Driver, songs that confirm again, after the interpretation of Cinema Paradiso, the tribute to Nino Rota and the sound of The Overtaking, Fabrizio's fascination for the world of cinema. There will also space as the original with Wide Green Eyes e Dizzy’s Blues Fabrizio Bosso and Goodness Gracous Julian Oliver Mazzariello.

This project demonstrates that there are two ways of doing things together: pursue two parallel roads that lead to the same goal, or pedaling in unison. The latter is the choice that they made Fabrizio Bosso and Julian Oliver Mazzariello and "Tandem" album is the natural culmination of an artistic relationship already been run, the union began on stage but that transcends the classic collaborations rules.

Bosso and Mazzariello meet in the earliest formation of High Five, a “All Stars” the young talents of Italian jazz firmament. Since then it binds them complicit friendship that makes them naturally to provide the same passion for music and experimentation between genres.

In the album, released in 2014 Verve / Universal, also participate in two excellent guest. Fabio Concato performs her famous Gigi where the Bosso trumpet and the piano Mazzariello become more mild, as to accompany, with discretion, an important text that tells a father through words in which everyone can find their expression of the relationship with a parent.

Fiorella Mannoia instead was invited to sing, for the first time, the classic Trovajoli-Garinei-Giovannini Roma nun is the stupid tonight: an elegant voice in the service of one of the famous songs of the Roman tradition.

 

In April 2017, Fabrizio Bosso released the double live album entitled State of the Art in a quartet with pianist Julian Oliver Mazzariello, bassist and drummer Jacopo Ferrazza Nicola Angelucci. Last 24 November, per Warner Music, Fabrizio Bosso with the same line of "State of the Art", and a special appearance by Walter Ricci and Karima published "Merry Christmas Baby": songs that lead to the discovery of the imaginary Christmas, characterized by the magical and unmistakable sonority of this training.
